Alcohol Unit Calculator

Enter the amount of each type of alcoholic drink you have consumed.

Men should not consume more than 4 units per day / 21 units per week. Women should not exceed 3 units a day / 14 per week.

On average a person processes one unit of alcohol per hour from the time they stop drinking. In most countries the legal limit for driving is below one unit, you should not drive until at least the minimum amount of hours have passed. Doing so could be illegal and you will be putting yourself and others at risk of harm.

The drink driving calculations used are not an exact science and are based on an average, healthy person. Do not drink before driving until you feel absolutely capable of doing so safely.

Try the Alcohol Unit Calculator for yourself (to the right on PC or below on a smartphone) to calculate your alcohol units, calories and how long you should wait before safely driving after you drink.
